Frequently Asked Questions

  • After filling out the form above, we review your information, then set up a meeting to find out more details about your needs are and we go from there.

EmberArts and a community connect and have a conversation about the community's goals and interests in working with us.

    Then we jump in!

  • It truly depends on the project scope, objectives, and schedule of the partner. Any project will be produced on the partner's schedule based on collaborative meetings between the partner and EmberArts.

Projects may be a 2-hour workshop, or a process that works up to a final event six months after we begin; it depends on the needs of the organization/community.

  • We work with anyone who wants to do any of the following:

    • collect stories of community
    • find new ways to engage learning
    • address a community concern or challenge
    • discuss or explore a difficult or complex social/community

It's for a community - any group of people that has a shared reality. Examples include:

    • Educators
    • Co-workers
    • Incarcerated populations
    • Neighbors
    • Members of a congregation
    • Parent Groups
    • Veterans
    • Parties to arbitration or mediation
    • Students
    • Voters
    • Affinity/Identity Groups
    • Arts Ensembles

  • No prior experience in theatre? Not a problem; our work is not about performance. We use theatre to communicate, to discuss, and to consider ideas. In other words, it’s the tool we use to get you and your community closer to your goal.

  • Simply put, it’s theatre that isn't just for entertainment.

Your favorite teacher no doubt used applied theatre - when they played devil's advocate, or they played That Person From History in your social studies class.

Your grandmother telling your favorite story - that gets a little bigger each time she tells it.

Choose your own adventure - that’s applied theatre!
